Therapy Services

 Can it help?

There are many reasons you may wish to come to therapy. If you are going through a difficult time, significant life transition, struggling to move beyond the past, or perhaps therapy is something you have been curious about but unsure if it is for you.

Therapy provides a safe space for you to sit with, think about, explore, process, and understand your emotions and thoughts. It allows you to unpack events from your childhood, recent past or present day, free from judgement in a confidential, warm environment. If you have a desire to understand why you are the way you are, why certain patterns continue to perpetuate in your life, or simply if you would like someone to talk to, therapy is for you.

My Approach

Psychodynamic work is to make the unconscious, conscious. When something is conscious we are able to think about it. When we are able to think about it, we can change it.

I am a masters qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor. The psychodynamic approach focuses on unconscious patterns of behaviour, that are sometimes rooted in childhood or stem from our close relationships with others. As a psychodynamic therapist I remain curious about noticing repeating patterns and elucidating them in our work together. In our work together I will be holding space for what is happening beneath, what may be unspoken but feels to be a noticeable theme, pattern, or defence.

Psychodynamic work can be suited to deep rooted work. It gives time to building a strong therapeutic relationship and allows for deep exploration and thinking for both the therapist and client.

Our sessions

I am available for long term and short term work, online and in person. The sessions will be at the same time and day each week, each lasting 50 minutes.

I provide a free 15  minute consultation, where we can meet online or over the phone and I can answer any questions.

The room is a warm, light space, in central Bishop’s Stortford.

The fee per session is £60.

Confidentiality

Therapy is confidential. I uphold to a high level of confidentiality and professionalism, which will be explained in our first session.

However, if I feel that you, or someone else is at risk of harm, I cannot ethically keep to this contract of confidentiality. In every instance possible, we will discuss this together first.
